Spirit of the classes
Suitable to everyone, whatever their age and physical condition, the yoga I teach is focused on what you feel, on respect for yourself and your limitations, and on coordination between movements and breathing. Beyond the exercises, the aim is to find the way to connect with your innermost self in order to get in touch with who you really are.
Instead of striving for the perfect pose, I invite you to breathe consciously, to feel what is happening in your body and in your mind and to let contentment and self-awareness develop. Together, we strive to keep alive the connection between our centre, inside our pelvis, and our limbs (top of the head, coccyx, tip of the fingers and the toes). So, we can unfold in the poses from our centre, without collapsing or stretching, and the energy can flow.
Group classes for adults
Inspired by Shri T. Krishnamacharya, T.K.V. Desikachar and B.K.S. Iyengar, group classes allow you to relax, to come back to self-awareness, to create space for vitality and positive energy. I invite you to practise in full respect of your possibilities and limits, focusing on what you feel deep inside. However supple you are, this approach allows you to be comfortably established in a steady pose.
Typical class : from relaxation to … relaxation
I invite you to start by breathing exercises (prânâyâma) in a sitting or supine position. Then, at your own rhythm, you perform the poses (asana) I suggest or show. These can be dynamic (including combinations of poses) or static. I insist constantly on the intrinsic link between moving and breathing. Each class ends up with a guided relaxation.
Pregnant women and women who have recently given birth
I am also a prenatal and postpartum yoga teacher. Pregnant women or women who have recently given birth are welcome to my classes. They are specifically taken care of.
Group classes for children
In our frantic world, there are many sources of confusion and distraction, and children can be stressed out. Nowadays, kids spend a lot of time sitting instead of running around and playing outdoors, and hence suffer from stiffness and are uncoordinated in their movements. My aim is to fight against these tendencies, bringing children peace, vitality and fluidity of movement.
Together we play and practise real yoga poses, and, quickly, children gain in suppleness, awareness of their body and their movements in space, and they appreciate stillness and calm. Off the mat, they become more self-confident, they realize that enjoying life does not go hand in hand with speed and their ability to concentrate is improved.
Yoga for one child and one adult
Parent and child do poses together, to have fun, to learn to move with the breath and, simply, to be together in a different way. The grown-ups can experience the pure pleasure of game and of nimble movements they have often forgotten. The children gain in suppleness, and awareness of their body and their movements in space. And everyone learns the art of slowing down!
Suitable for adults and children alike, private classes are tailor-made for your needs and contribute to the health and harmony of your body, mind and spirit.
In case of illness or psychological problems, private classes can help you on the way to recovery. Yoga is no substitute for medical treatment. Therefore, it is highly recommended to come with a medical diagnosis from a general practitioner, a physiotherapist, an osteopath or a psychologist.
- Restorative yoga
According to Judith Hanson Lasater, who has been teaching this type of yoga with passion for more than twenty years, restorative yoga is ’’the use of props to support the body in a position of ease and comfort to facilitate relaxation and health’’. It helps body and mind to relax. It is not about stretching, it is about opening. And ultimately, you can rediscover the joy of pure rest.
- Prenatal and post-partum yoga
The poses are tailored to your needs at all stages of your pregnancy. So you can continue enjoying yoga or discover the wonders of yoga during this important period of your life. It will be beneficial to your baby as well!
Usually six weeks after the birth of your child, you can go back onto your mat and I can guide you in a gentle and careful practice.
